What is Aromatherapy?

Essential oils are highly concentrated extracts distilled from trees, flowers, leaves, resins, roots, seeds and rinds of fruit which have been used for over 6,000 years.

In Ancient Egypt the oils were used for mummification and religious rites by high priests and kings. They were also used in India, Ancient Israel and at the Last Supper, the feet of Jesus were anointed with oils.

The oil is the life force of the plant and continues to be used in lotions, massage, in the bath, environment, inhalation and in sprays for the body, mind, emotions and spirit.

Today essential oils are being used all over the world in nursing homes, hospitals, hospices, museums, public buildings, the workplace and within school systems.
